,995.00,747.42 The Aerospace becomes the E56059 for all-titanium or F56059 for bi-colour . Supporting both the analog and digital functions, these earliest of Aerospaces use the Breitling 56, a quartz movement based on the ETA 988.332 with ~4 years of battery life and functions including a perpetual calendar, a chronograph, and a second time zone.
The Aerospace becomes the E56059 for all-titanium or F56059 for bi-colour titanium & gold. The "56" refers to the B56 quartz movement, Breitling's reference number for their use of the ETA 988. Initially the new model reference is stamped on . This movement has been replaced by the ETA 988.333 which is available at various sites. The 988.333 is nearly identical, but the LCD window at the 6 o'clock position is slightly larger. There have been a few posts here at WUS on this swap. Analog and digital time is getting different - the analog time loses a few minutes per day, the digital time keeps the exact time instead. My question: I think I got the Breitling 56 movement (ETA 988.332). There are also this movements for the Aerospace: Breitling 65 = ETA 998.332. Breitling 79 = Basis ETA 988.352.The ETA caliber 988.333 is a quartz powered ani-digi movement with 7 jewels. It is Swiss made and is part of ETA’s Flatline family, however, this caliber is no longer listed in their current lineup. The most recent documentation related to this movement was from 2009.
It's powered by Breitling's Caliber 79, which they refer to as "SuperQuartz": an ETA-based thermocompensated multifunction movement, that is chronometer certified and specc'ed to run at better than 15 seconds a year accuracy.
The Aerospace EVO watch utilises a thermo-compensated Quartz operated movement known as the Breitling 79. Confirmed to be ten times more accurate than a regular movement, it is a reworked version of the ETA Thermoline family of movements and is very respected. Asides from dial variations and ETA super quartz movement updates, the minute repeater function was added some time during the mid 90s, and a backlight function from 2005 onwards. On my version, the dial is astonishingly crisp and well finished. The ETA-produced Breitling caliber 79 inside of the Breitling Aerospace Evo is a thermo-compensated “SuperQuartz” which is accurate to within seconds per year. That is much more accurate than your standard quartz watch.
Each timepiece gets it power from one of two quartz ETA movements: either the 988.332 or 998.332, also known at Breitling as the B56 and B65, respectively. The latter boasts a chronograph function, perpetual calendar, second time zone, and an alarm.
