Polishing is optional of course but I don’t own vintage pieces and don’t think that a competent RCS will butcher it when it needs servicing. Comes back as new and I don’t believe that I will ever feel the diminished resell price. My only Rolex is a DJ41 oyster with polished center links. On top of that I am a desk jockey so can feel you pain.
